Summer Courses 2023

For our summer courses, we chose the theme of Greek Myths. Over two days, forty eight children in four groups of twelve, completed eight activities linked to Greek Myths. The children were read to about the origins of the Gods at the beginning and end of each day so that they were able to understand who the Gods and Goddesses were and how they were linked. This helped support the children’s knowledge before and during activities

Easter Courses 2023

Two days. Nearly 50 children, Four fantastic activities! In sport, the children developed problem-solving, leadership and teamwork skills. In pond dipping, we found water boatmen, mayflies and even newts. As well as building dens in bushcraft, the children roasted apples on a campfire and in geography they learnt how to use quadrants and identify trees.

We were also delighted to welcome The Grange Academy back to the Leys for a fun-filled day of outdoor learning and we are excited to continue building our partnership in the future.

"My children had an absolute amazing day at country days over the Easter period and have asked for me to book them in again within the summer! My children spoke about pond dipping, cooking apples on an open fire, tent making, outdoor activities and much more! The staff were all so lovely and welcoming and allowed my children to feel settled despite one of my children having anxiety and struggling with new social situations.

I have never seen my children come back from a holiday event so happy and excited to go again! Thank you for the opportunity and we shall hopefully see you again at your next country days course!"
